How is the UMT better than alternative Malaria RTDs?
The UMT has several advantages over traditional malaria RTDs, including:

How much does the UMT cost?
Malaria is most prevalent in areas of the world most sensitive to cost. As such, a UMT test can typically be bought for $1 or less.
Where is the UMT available?
At the moment, the UMT is only available in Nigeria. The UMT will soon also be available in Cote d'Ivoire, Kenya, the Dem. Rep. of the Congo, and the EU.
How accurate is the UMT?
The UMT is 84% accurate. This is similar to a blood-based RTD, with is 85% accurate.
